There's no place like home.

Day 7: If you could live in any time period in the past, what would it be and why?

This is tricky.  There are plenty of time periods I want to visit, but none I want to live permanently in.  I would love to visit the time when our country became our nation.  Last year when we went to Philadelphia, it was so fascinating to learn so much about all of that rich history.  That was a time when the people's voices were heard by the political figures.  I'm sure they weren't honest, but I am totally sure that there was not as much corruption and greed that goes with being a politician today.

Another time period would be in the 1900's to 1930's.  Again a time of great growth in our country.  Mainly I really just want to wear the clothing from these periods.  All those dresses that women made by hand I am in true awe of.

I would also like to visit when my mom was in school.  I think it would be awesome to see how she was when she was a girl.  Kind of Back to the Future type thing.  My parents grew up next to each other and I want to know how they interacted.  All I can really remember is fighting between them.  I am much happier with happily divorced parents than unhappily married parents.

Photo Day 7: On your screen:
Here is a screen shot of what I am currently editing in Photoshop.  They are pictures from the turn of the century (1900's not 2000's) mansion.

  1. Hah, I agree, I would visit a lot of time periods, but just on a short day trip because I can't imagine living in anytime but ours!

    1. Totally agree! It's kind of weird that people 100 years from now will be saying the same about our time period.

  2. OOOH funny we both picked eras partially because of the style and fashion!

I never thought of checking on my mom... glad I didn't.... she was probably a tramp or something and then I'd lose all respect for her.

    BWAHHHAHAHA

    I'm kidding (I hope)

  3. I couldn't pick an era--unless I can Forrest Gump myself into a major event.

  5. I think if anybody said that politics were as corrupt back then as they are now I would never believe it. They had a definite vision of what this country could and should be and set it up exactly like they said. How many politicians nowadays keep their campaign promises? I don't think I could see my mom in school... she got picked on a LOT for being ugly (which she isn't) and I'd probably get into fights. Dunno how being my mom's best friend would screw up my being born... lol

    1. I am shaking my head in agreement!! I would try not to interact with my mom, but she also got picked on for her teeth. I just want to see how her and my dad interacted.

  6. Politics were very corrupt back then, old boys club; they were just more discrete and with out 24 x 7 news reporting people didn't find out about it.

Grandma had a tub like that, it was cool to soak in, nice and deep.

  9. Philadelphia is on my list of places to visit because of the history. I hated history when I was younger, but now I can't get enough of it.

    1. It was so full of history, that it blew my mind. I still want to go back and explore more. I loved that I saw where George Washington sat.
