When cousins come to visit

Day 4 of the happiness challenge.

I am happy for unexpected visiting with family.  Friday we got a call from my husband's cousin and his wife and two kids that live in California, who said they would be in Texas around the Gainsville area.  We made a central meeting point at my husband's grandma's house who lives about two and half hours from us.  It was about an hour and a half drive for them and for my husband's aunt (who hasn't seen her nephew since they were about 12...yes they are the same age).  We spent the afternoon riding 4 wheelers and just talking and enjoying the company.  They are looking into possibly moving to that area.  I really hope they do, because I would love to get to see them more often that every 10 years (last time we saw them was 11 years ago).  Our girls are just about the same age and had tons to talk about.  It was a really great visit and I already miss them.  I will have some pictures to post tomorrow.

  1. My bestest cousin of all time is moving to Oklahoma. His house in Kansas has sold and they close on the 9th. He is looking for a house in the Tulsa area. Where is it that you live? It would be so cool to come see you sometime. Richard is in no shape to travel but someday......

    1. Yay! Tulsa is about an hour and half from where I live. You name the time and place and I will sooo be there to meet you with open arms. Elexis and I are actually going to Tulsa on Friday to the Tulsa Zoo (they have penguins).

  2. Aw ^_^ That is so sweet being able to get together like that. One of my cousins wants to come to Texas so bad and I'm really hoping we can make that happen.

    1. I hope you can make that happen too. I wanted to go to California to visit them this year, but it didn't happen so I am so glad they came this way. Plus seeing my husband's crazy (in a good way) aunt is always a bonus. She lives in Bonham TX.
