My baby is so big

First the first time since doing a challenge, I am a day late.  I was a day late earlier in the challenge, but I thought it posted and it hadn't.  So I am going to just say I am happy not to put pressure on myself to do it every day.  I will try to make that day up somehow, but hey; it's busy around here.

School started this week.  I was an emotional mess yesterday.  I started looking at old pictures of Elexis and combined with dropping her off; I cried for most of the day.  On top of that, my mother in law had to put her dog to sleep yesterday.  We took her a card and some flowers.

Here is my 8th grader.  She looks so grown up now.

We have a first day of school tradition of going to the donut shop and eating donuts (we also have donut Fridays as long as the rest of the week goes smoothly).  We love this tradition.  Hopefully when she goes off to college we can still continue it (sniff...sniff).  Just for nostalgia sake, here is a picture from her very first day of pre-k.  I can honestly say I cry every year the first day of school.  I just hope that I have done enough with her.
Her My Little Pony backpack is as big as she is.

I chose crackers and donut holes...

  1. Aw! *hugs* I think with three kids my mom was just exhausted and ready to be rid of us by the first day of school... or midway through summer... ;) Insane since we spent most of the summer at various camps and functions. Hrm... *shrugs* Hope you keep getting your first day of school donuts. ^_^

    1. I am sure she was ready to get rid of you kids. I know my mom was and she worked full time. I only have one and we spend a lot of time together. I know that when she was two and three I would have gladly shipped her off to school for 6 hours.

    1. I love it. We used to do Ice Cream Fridays; but when she changed schools Braums was not on the route and a donut shop was; so we switched.
