I wish I were musically talented

Day 2 of what makes me happy...

My daughter's talent.  I believe she has a natural gift for music.  She plays the piano and the cello with ease.  Now that she has gained confidence in herself; she plays so much better.  Her one month of lessons last month paid off in leaps and bounds.  Her camp teacher (who was also her extra curricular orchestra conductor) said that she has improved tremendously (and that was before she found out Elexis had been taking lessons).  She really enjoyed herself at camp this week.  They played classics like Led Zepplin's Kashmir and Journey's Don't Stop Believing; as well as current hits like Secrets by One Republic and Radioactive by Imagine Dragons (where Elexis had a solo).  The audience really got into it as well as the kids.  You can just really tell they had a blast this week.

Here are a couple of pictures and I will get the video uploaded tomorrow.

Day 2: Sandwich - also National Ice cream Sandwich Day
I needed to clean up the edges of the sandwich but I still like the picture.

  1. Those ice cream sandwiches look yummy! I love that Elexis is so musically talented. Harley is a singer. She is so excited that she got chosen for the 8th grade chorus this coming year.

    1. That is awesome for Harley. I love the arts and music and all that. Elexis would love to do choir, but she had to make choices. I can't wait to hear how Harley does this year and how much she is enjoying it.

  4. Now I want an ice cream sandwich! Looks so good! Your daughter is so lucky to have parents who encourage and support her (and pay for!) her cello and piano lessons. Music is such an amazing talent/skill to have! I envy those who can play an instrument - I've tried but my brain doesn't seem to work that way.

    Lovely photos as always!

    1. Thanks, I hope she sticks with it. We would love her to continue the cello through college (and hopefully scholarship). My brain does't work that way either. I will definitely check out your new blog. I've missed reading about your life.
