Awe...first kiss and first love

Day 10:  Discuss your first love and first kiss.

Yay!!  A fun one.  I like these kind.  So first off I have always been boy crazy.  I liked several boys at one time (why limit yourself to one, keep the options open...ha!) I believe my first kiss was when I was 4 or 5 with a boy that lived next door named Seth.  He was my first boyfriend.  Then we move to Nick in Kindergarden, we held hands on the bus on the way to the zoo.  First grade, Ronnie was my main man, we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at school together and I had a horrific bike accident in front of his house.  Second grade; my favorite boyfriend of elementary school.  His name was Billy.  We were going to get married.  He was going to be a farmer, and me the farmer's wife.  We were together until I think middle of 3rd grade.  I do remember him being the sweetest of boys.  He is a farmer as well as something else now.  But, he has a different farmer's wife.  Fourth grade brought many kisses and no boyfriends.  I gave a boy named Jeff his very first kiss (and when I say kiss I am talking a peck, not full on making out).  Fifth grade was a bit of a lull.  I changed schools, so no boyfriend or kisses.

Then we get to middle school.  I had a couple of boyfriends, but nothing serious.  Then, seventh grade hit.  I changed schools, again.  I had to make new friends, again.  I started going to a new church.  There was this boy, his name was Joe.  I was smitten with Joe.  Joe also liked me back.  Joe became my boyfriend.  We were together a whole 3 weeks, before I found out Joe was a bit of a playboy.  But, Joe was my very first french kiss.  Joe sent my heart into a flutter.  Then, Joe broke my heart.  I can think of it with fondness now, but at the time it really sucked!  I then met Brian at a church camp here in Oklahoma called Falls Creek.  He bought me a stuffed dog and a necklace at the gift shop.  After camp, we would talk on the phone for hours.  He lived 30 minutes from me (coincidentally in the city I now live in).  He would dedicate songs to me on the radio (huge in the 90's).  "Our song" was (Everything I Do) I Do It For You.  He would send me letters with awesome drawings (some of which I still have).  We actually became great friends.  When we finally broke up (who didn't see that coming, neither one of us could drive and we never saw each other).  We would call each other when we had relationship problems and get the other perspective.  We saw each other the following summer and tried being together then, but it wasn't the same.  We were great at being friends.

High School, oh high school and all your drama.  I met another boy at a Christian Conference.  His name was Ian.  He was a junior when I was a freshman.  He was going to be an officer in the Air Force (I believe he is).  Again, he lived 30 minutes from me (again, in the city I currently live in...now it's weird).  But, he had a car.  We saw each other a couple of times when I invited him to a couple of church functions.  He was a good respectable boyfriend with manners (most of my boyfriends were with the exception of Joe).  We finally decided to call it quits (ok, so it ended with me screaming at him and hanging up on him) when he took another girl to his junior prom (it had already been prearranged before I met him, but tell my 15 year old self that).  Moving on...A wonderful hayride in the smallest of small towns called Coalgate, OK.  We were with our church youth group.  It was a boy name Brandt.  He was my best friend's sister's best friend.  I didn't find out way later, that my best friend also liked him (I respect the code, even though she didn't...that's a whole different story).  So we are on this hayride, very romantic and he grabs my hand and doesn't let go.  We held hand through the entire hayride and on the entire hour and half trip home.  He came over a few times after that to swim at my house.  We had a few really good make out sessions.  And then it fizzled.  I am more than okay with it. He was great and we remained friends even after that.  Which brings us up to my long term boyfriend (by the way, thanks for sticking with me up to this point).

Michael.  We met at church (surprise, surprise).  I was friends with his sister first and I liked his older brother first.  I knew I never had a chance with the older brother so I went after the younger one.  Good choice on my part.  The older one was a complete ass (for lack of a better word).  Michael was wonderful and a year behind me in school.  He was so shy, I asked him out.  We held hands a lot.  We finally had our first kiss to Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun.  Not at all romantic, but it was ours.  We went on Mission Trips together.  We went to church camp together.  I would go to his house and we would play Nintendo for hours.  We had a lot of fun.  I even helped him a little on rebuilding his truck.  We were together for 2 and 1/2 years.  He was my first love.  He will always be my first love.  I will never get that piece of my heart back, it is his forever.  We were going to get married.  We spent a lot of time together.  Then comes Senior year.  We started fighting a lot.  We started spending time apart.  Then I got a job and met new friends.  I started spending a lot of time with my new friend Shelley.  I would hang out with her family and they kept urging me to meet her brother-in-law's brother.  I told them I had a boyfriend.  Well they somehow arranged it for us to meet "accidentally".  I was smitten with this new boy.  He was a sophomore in college and was going to fly fighter jets in the Air Force.  I broke up with Michael 4 days before his birthday (I am a horrible person).  He called me a week later and asked if I had broken up with him for another guy and I was not honest with him.  He cried, I cried and I still cry thinking back to that moment and wishing I could take it back.  So I started dating this college boy.  He was really good to me.  I was his very first girlfriend (he was shy).  He spoiled me rotten and eventually popped that all important question the August after my senior year.  I said yes, we got married 11 months later.  Next month it will be sixteen years we will be married.

Whew....betcha didn't expect a novel with this question.  I loved being able to write about all of these special people in my life.  I sound like a real promiscuous person, but I promise you I am not.  None of these relationships ever went beyond kissing until I met my husband.

Day 10: You.

Me in all of my 2 year old glory

  3. Nice story...some of it made me laugh...I dated ALOT, and according to my husband dated half the city. Not true, I just didn't sit home much. That was back in the day you had a different date every wkend. Kids don't do that now, they do everything in bunches....then have a "relationship" which means they hook up. Not the same. Congrats on your 16. I just made dinner reservations earlier today for our 41st that we'll celebrate this coming Sat pm.
Working still at catching up, but getting closer
