May Blog Challenge

So it begins...April

April is one of my busiest months.  It is filled with a lot of birthdays, a lot of practices, a few recitals, and a lot of state testing.

I am not an April fool's person.  I only had one joke played on me.  My daughter came out of her room and said she just broke her glasses.  Oh, Lord... Not cool, especially when it is first thing on a Monday morning.  I am thinking "how am I going to get her to put her contacts in fast so we can get out the door on time and how quickly can I get her an eye appointment to get her a new pair of glasses (she's due for an eye appointment)." She then told me April Fools.  I remember playing a few when I was younger like that.  Now that I am the parent, yeah, not so fun.  Luckily the rest of the day went smoothly.

Easter was great.  I got to get together with my family.  My mom is one of seven.  So, when everyone gets together and most of us cousins have kids; it is a happy chaotic time.  All but four of us cousins were there.  Usually there are a lot more missing.  We decided to use the opportunity to take some pictures.  It was great.  I am still editing and hopefully they will be up in the next couple of days.  We ate lots of yummy food, had a great Easter egg hunt, and just played.  I love get togethers like that because I still feel like a kid sometimes when I am around my cousins.  I even played kickball.  We are trying to put together a camping weekend for us all to get together this summer.  I hope it works out.

I guess I have rambled on enough.  Now that I am not doing the blog challenge.  I feel unfocused.  I need to write out a game plan and keep the momentum from the challenge going.  I am no writer, so things don't flow as easily from me.  I pretty much just type what pops into my head.  Well, I am off to buy some birthday cards.

  2. Sounds like a lot fun at your family Easter get-together! I managed to make it through April 1st with no-one getting me with the whole April Fools thing and was pretty happy about that. My cousins, however, weren't so lucky. My uncle {their dad} called all of his kids and told them he was moving in his new girlfriend {they've been on 3 dates}. He laid it on thick and they were threatening to quit their jobs and move back home, lol.

Also, totally know what you mean about life after the blog challenge. I find myself looking for my prompt of the day, lol.

    1. Ahh, I probably would have had a panic attack! That is too funny. A prompt of the day would be nice. I am glad of the friends I have met from the challenge. I love keeping up with you all.

  3. April Fools came too soon on the coattails of Easter for me to be motivated to do anything. Next year, I'm totally going ALL OUT! I'm going to saran wrap my son's door. Set their alarms to get up an hour early. Make jello koolaid. Make the meatloaf "muffins" with blue "frosting" (mashed potatoes) :) It'll be fun!

The ONLY time someone's gotten me is by taping the stupid sprayer on the sink. Yup... it got me TWICE because I forgot to take the tape off the first time. Grrrrrr

    1. I totally agree about it being too soon after Easter. Plus, it was on a Monday this year. That's a joke in itself. I was going to wake my daughter up and tell her due to a freak snowstorm, school was cancelled today; but I forgot in all of my Monday-morning-after-a-holiday-half-coma. Next year, I will do better.

That is way too funny about the sprayer and the fact it happened twice. Hahaha!! The meatloaf muffins are good.
